Can I shorten OX Mainspring®Yes and in fact all replacement mainsprings will probably need some adjustment to fit your rifle. There are various videos on YouTube showing how to do this or alternatively we do sell a book taking you through the process in good detail with pictures. Alternatively you can pay a Gunsmith to fit the spring for you. If you do fit the spring yourself please check that your rifle is firing at your local legal limits by using a chronograph.
-
What is the difference between the Red and Yellow OX Mainspring®The Red Original OX Mainspring® is our standard spring which will require suitable lubricant when fitting (see OX Lube in shop). The Yellow Accelerator OX Mainspring® are specially furnace baked with a Molybdenum & PFTE coating (much like a teflon coating on a frying pan) for progressive lubrication and rapid accelleration whilst firing. This therefore reduces the probability of dieseling in your rifle which can occur with too much lubrication.

Where are OX Mainspring® manufactured? We are proud that all of our OX Mainspring® have always been manufactured in Great Britain.
-
Are OX Mainspring® too powerful for my rifle?OX Mainspring® are the most powerful air rifle replacement spring available. This is achieved through our patent pending square section wire which produces up to 40% more power than conventional springs.
